solo getaway to my dream destination

on an impulse? insane? about a month ago, i decided to sign up myself for a solo getaway to tasmania ... YES all by myself! probably not an ideal consideration for most, but well for me i am feeling quite adventurous and i was also getting frustrated of aligning holidays with friends given my unpredictable project schedule. and so yup here i am, now in tassy on my blue blue holiday (*^_^*)

from years ago, i have always been wanting to visit tasmania ... and today i am finally doing it *yippee* the qantas flight was timely, attendants were friendly and i arrived early at melbourne for my transit. my biggest fear during the flight was a relapse of my illness (it's still a constant fear now haha) and a weak body unable to enjoy the trip truly. well luckily for me, the sick bug simply evaporated the minute i landed! i touched down around 8+ in melbourne, the morning is bright and cool. and what a busy airport, check out the early hustle bustle, there's certainly a lot of pple traveling.

what's comes along is a long anxious wait for my transit by jetstar, i managed to kill some time getting data card, having my caffeine dose @hudson, but still it took ages arghhhh ... ok finally the time to check in, and what a queue! it's no wonder they recommended 60mins check in before flight (-_-!) on a positive note, the queue is moving relatively fast and i managed to board my plane timely by 11am. its only after checking in then i realised that i should have done it earlier, there were retails in the domestic terminal (T_T) ... so dun make the same mistake as me hor anyway it's too early for shopping haha

half of my time on the domestic flight, i am dozing off, bearing in mind i have not gotten much good sleep previously and there's a 3 hour time difference. and just when we are about to start landing on Hobart, i managed to wake up! words can't describe the beautiful terrain of tasmania from atop, the coastlines are so pretty and clear ... wat a fine weather day! TADA! i made it, i m here! i have landed in hobart, the second oldest city in australia (to pronounce hobart correctly, just read "good meat" in hokkien hahaha)

hobart international airport
hobart airport is quite small, the baggage claims area was stuffed with loads of passengers, mostly tourists like me. there's a very cute patrol dog sniffing out for passengers with "weird" luggage (if you know wat i meant). hmmm so where do i get my tickets for airport shuttle to town? i was walking from one end of the airport to another searching for ticket counter and oh well it turns out that i just have to approach the driver and he will scribble your destination on a slip of paper hahaha and hand it to you. yup that's your ticket ... well who cares as long as the system works yeah? *wink*

the drive to city takes less than an hour and here my adventures begin.  check out my stay - central cafe ... don't be deceived by its humble outlook, it has served me well during my stay - excellent location, good breakfast (although the "sotong" me only get to try it on check-out day *sob sob*), pleasant staff.  only one complaint - very restricted shower area ... or have i grown fatter (-_-!) nooooooo ...

will share more on my adventures and some of my fondest memories in the next few entries (^.^). gotta be patient ya, slower writer at work hahaha
